Master degree in Labor Law and Social Security, ex fellow of the Latin American Experts in Labor Relations Program of the ILO, Universidad Castilla de la Mancha in Spain and the Universitá di Bologna in Italy. Director of the Consejo Nacional de Salarios (National Salary Council). Ex Board Member of the Asociación Costarricense del Derecho del Trabajo (Costa Rican Association of Labor Law).

In the academic field, he is a professor at the School of Law of the Universidad de Costa Rica since 1998 and in the Master´s program of Labor and Social Security Law at the UNED since 2004.

Author of several books (among them “El Teletrabajo” (Telecommuting), “Derechos Laborales Colectivos en el Sector Público” (Collective Labor Rights in the Public Sector), “Todo lo que un gerente debe conocer del Derecho Laboral Costarricense” (Everything a manager should know about Costa Rican Labor Law) and “101 preguntas frecuentes en materia laboral” (101 frequent questions on labor issues) and several articles addressed to the legal sector.

Speaker in seminars and congresses on current labor issues both on the national as well as the international levels and permanent collaborator on labor issues of the magazine Actualidad Económica, the Newspaper El Financiero and the section Elempleo.com of the Newspaper La Nación.
